Overview
Surgical correction of hypospadias, a congenital condition where the urethral opening is on the underside of the penis.
Indications
Hypospadias (distal, mid-shaft, or proximal), associated chordee.
Procedure Details
Various techniques (TIP, Mathieu, staged repairs) are used depending on severity to create a normally positioned urethral meatus.
Recovery
Usually day-case or overnight. Catheter/stent for 5-10 days.
Risks & Considerations
Fistula, stricture, meatal stenosis, cosmetic concerns.
