Overview

Complete removal of the kidney, entire ureter, and a cuff of bladder tissue at the ureteric orifice for upper tract urothelial carcinoma.

Indications

Upper tract urothelial carcinoma, high-grade ureteric tumors, multifocal ureteric disease.

Procedure Details

The kidney and entire ureter are removed along with a bladder cuff to prevent tumor recurrence at the ureteric orifice.

Recovery

Hospital stay 5-7 days. Return to activities in 6-8 weeks.

Risks & Considerations

Bleeding, bladder injury, urinary leak, recurrence in bladder.
