Overview
Surgical placement of a penile prosthesis for treatment of erectile dysfunction refractory to medical therapy.
Indications
Organic erectile dysfunction, failed medical therapy, Peyronie's disease, post-prostatectomy ED.
Procedure Details
Inflatable or malleable prostheses are implanted into the corpora cavernosa through a penoscrotal or infrapubic approach.
Recovery
Hospital stay 1-2 days. Sexual activity after 4-6 weeks.
Risks & Considerations
Infection, mechanical failure, erosion, patient dissatisfaction.
