Overview

Surgical removal of the adrenal gland for adrenal tumors. Laparoscopic approach is preferred for most cases.

Indications

Functional adrenal tumors, adrenal masses >4cm, suspected malignancy, pheochromocytoma.

Procedure Details

The adrenal gland is dissected and removed. Laparoscopic approach offers faster recovery and less pain.

Recovery

Hospital stay 1-3 days (laparoscopic) or 5-7 days (open). Return to activities in 2-4 weeks.

Risks & Considerations

Bleeding, injury to adjacent organs, hormonal imbalance, hypertensive crisis (pheochromocytoma).
