Overview
Surgical reimplantation of the ureter into the bladder with creation of an anti-reflux mechanism.
Indications
Vesicoureteric reflux, distal ureteric stricture, ureteric injury.
Procedure Details
The ureter is reimplanted into the bladder using various techniques (Lich-Gregoir, Politano-Leadbetter) to create an anti-reflux tunnel.
Recovery
Hospital stay 3-5 days. Catheter for 5-7 days.
Risks & Considerations
Reflux persistence, obstruction, urine leak.
